Hey there. At first i'd like to introduce myself.
My Name is Max, i'm from germany and to be honest, not as deep into knives as someone would imagine when he'd see all i have. But i think that came with my passion of fishing.
I recived my first knife at the age of 5 (i can still tell you, my mom wasn't amused) from my grandfather and he is moreless the reason why i'm posting here now.
A few years later i recived another knife from him. The knife he gaves me was with him for a few years he said, its a Schrade Old Timer 940T.

I tried to understand the different stamps from Schrade but i still have no clue which age this knife maybe has. So i thought that there are maybe some people here who can help me to figure this out.

Thanks in advance for your help.

And last but not least, if i'm in the wrong section of the forum, sorry! and would you please forgive me my mistakes in the text, only learned the language in school and i cant even remember the name of my teacher any more :D

Dear Max,
Your picture is a little blurry but from what I can tell the tang is 3-line(3 lines used up with stamped wording). If yours says...

SCHRADE
NY,USA
94OT

most likely it was manufactured after 1973 but up to the early to mid 1980's.Around the 80's decade Schrade USA knives became two line.

GruSS Gott, Max. Wilkommen!

If you want to learn more about your knife you should look into the "traditionals" forum, and the "Schrade collectors forum" which is under manufacturers. You'll find we have a large number of European members active in traditionals.
