Question about a sheath on a 171-UH Sch/Wal

I have this older 171-UH Schrade Walden (serial# 04931). I bought it awhile back in the box with the sheath, (unfortunately no paperwork though). The realy weird thing is, this is the sheath I received with it. I know the newer 153-UH's have no sharpening stone pouch, but I have never seen a 171-UH w/o the sharpening stone pouch attached. I asked Hal about it quite awhile back and he also said the 171-UH's should have a pouch. Anybody out there with any information?

:thumbup:Nice!!!! my guess is the possibility of a aftermarket sheath made by a person who knew their way around leathercraft. The one thing that I question is the snap (usually on the older sheaths they are stamped IIRC) also the stitching looks suspicious. BUT who knows with Schrade.?!

I :confused:think Codger has some research info. on the snaps?

I have two 171's with the plain sheaths, my guess is they were handed out with knives on the Schrade lost and replacement knife warranty program.
