I was thinking about getting this knife

but I was wondering is it possible to make the grey titanium side black? and the stainless steel screws black? I like the all black looks of the bench made 940-1 and zt black 0450 (except I like a steel colored blade) if so, who could do this work? is anodizing stainless steel or titanium black a hard thing to do?

the black zt 0450 has black titanium, so it can be done I think...maybe the stainless steel screws would need to be power coated?

If you don't mind voiding the lifetime warranty, you can probably do anything you want. Titanium cannot be anodized black and the phosphate or acid types of black treatments I've seen are not very black (mottled/blotchy looking). The best way to get a true black is by physical vapor deposition, PVD, like that Chris Reeve uses on the military fixed blades or some of the colors on the current folders. You can probably acid etch the stainless hardware to get a decent black but I'm not sure how they get the polished black look- maybe an oxide finish. Someone else here probably knows.

There are companies that do that and it should not be hard to find one. Just make sure they've done it before so you are not the first experiment that destroys the fit of the knife (need to properly mask internal surfaces, etc., due to precision fit).

There is always Cerakote.
It’s been done before and the owner seemed happy with it. Some of my friends use it on firearms and seem happy enough, but I don’t have any personal experience.

Even though it would look good to have an all black knife, eventually, no matter the coating, it will wear, scratch and get dinged up. Then, you have what you have. If you're good with that, then, PVD or DLC should work. The only experience I've had with Cerakote is that I dropped a knife on concrete and it chipped. Whatever you do to the slab, you should be able to get the screws done also. Powder coating the screws will be satin in finish. Personally, I'd prefer the blackwash finish. It hides wear a lot better than most other finishes.
Look at the dealers that support the forum to see if they offer the service. I know USA MadeBlades does anodizing.
