Question about AG Russell's manual Dominator

Is AG Russell's non-assisted Dominator just the factory dominator with the handles anodized blue and the spring left out? Or is it a separate sprint run? What I'm really interested in is fit and finish QC (I hear a lot of regular Dominators have off-center blades) and whether or not the obverse Ti slab still has the ROBO spring pocket milled into it. Thanks!

The blade "off center" was an old problem. I do not think you see many now with that same problem. I bought two dominators last year, they were fine.

As far as ag russel's more than likely its the same knife just anodized and no spring.

There are small differences between the two. Most notably, on the manual version there is a relief for the opening mechanism (a small notch n the handle).

Thanks for the replies! So just to get it straight, the AG Russell version still has the pocket for the Robo spring, but it also has the milled groove on the outside for improved thumbstud access?

Hello,

I have one of these manual dominators.

It is indeed blued titanium and the blade is definetely centered when closed (as well as opened). Lock-up is good.

I did not disassemble my knife but I don't think that the handle is machined to accept a spring. From what I heard it is not possible to convert it to assisted opening.

Very nice knife, quite easy to flick open with the flipper.
It also has a cutout to improve access to the thumbstud.

For the moment, I can't comment much on the cutting performance, but it looks promising..

Hope this helps

Marco
