This item on ebay looks to be an old Buck fixed blade. Everything looks great about it except there doesn't appear to be anything stamped on the blade. Look at it and see what you think. Did Buck ever put out a knife without a stamp? Item number: ?

Mike,
Sorry I had to take the item number out. :(
But I can tell you that the knife is actually a Buck. I have seen them before with letters missing or mistamped.
I think that Hoyt or Al would just eyeball the stamp and sometimes get it too low on the tang so that when the guard was installed, it hid some of the BUCK.
The seller mentioned that this knife is missing the B.
There are also Bucks from the 1950's that were signed with an old time electric pencil instead of stamped.
Hope this helps. :)

Thanks Joe,
Sorry! I wasn't sure about the proper protocol but was curious about the absence of a visual stamp. Everything looked right but you never know.

Mike,

I popped in to look at the knife and found your entire PhotoBucket knife collection. What an amazing group of knives. Wow!!!!!
