Question about an older model

I have a 1999 Specwar A with a black 50/50 blade. The knife and box look legit and the liners are non magnetic. My main question is when did Emerson start using the double detent on these models?

I'm no expert but I think double detents were introduced in 99.

It seems like an odd model to copy due to the different style of screws on the handles etc.

Nothing unusual about those - that's the way Emerson used to do their screws.

It also has the single detent, but I thought I read somewhere that this year of this model had a single. I am just not sure if it is legit or not. New to Emerson and the amount of fakes out there is staggering.

That one is most definitely real. Does it have the box?

yes. I was not sure about that either. Inside is smooth and bright white.

That's the way the box should be - the fakes are dull grey on the inside. This should have the comparison pics:

I pulled the scale off and the blade out. The washers all match the pics as do the frame screws and notch near the pivot hole.

Thanks. I was not sure if it was real at first because of the way the screws were in the center of the handle. I had never see that before.

I wouldn't worry about buying a fake; they're very obvious if you've ever owned a real Emerson. Just stick to authorized dealers and you're safe.
