Question about Benchmade 940 and little "nubs"

I just got my first Benchmade 940. What a great knife. I understand why there is so much praise for this knife.

I noticed that on both sides of the liners near the AXIS lock there were little nubs. I am curious if others on the forum have also noticed this on their Benchmade 940. Do these nubs serve some sort of function or are they leftover from the machining process? This doesn't bother me at all, I am just curious about it.

Thanks!

That's part of the Omega spring end; which is part of the Axis lock; which is protruding through the liner (which locks that end of it) I believe. I sure someone will have a more technical answer.

Those are the ends of the omega springs which keep tension on the axis lock bar.

There is a good explanation of the axis lock here.

Great. Thanks for the info. That makes complete sense, I'm not sure why that did cross my mind.

Hi tie803,

I am impressed with your attention to the detail, but rest assured this is more noticeable in some knife and not so in other.

Enjoy your Gentleman's dress EDC!
