I am looking for a Nylon sheath with liner like the BlackHawk or Eagle for a 1/4'' thick, 7' long blade. The Eagle sheaths I have will only work with a 3/16" blade like a kabar, SRK, etc. Is the insert on the Blackhawk sheath wide enough to accept a 1/4" thick blade? Thanks in advance :)

I was just over reading your other post on the Blackhawk sheath you have for your flight knife. I was afraid of that. I'll try the link to the BQ web-site. I saw those before but they seemed a little overkill with the features. Thanks again.

I too have been looking for a good "tactical" sheath. I ended up ordering a Blackhawk, but it's been on backorder. I was looking for the Spec-Ops sheath after seeing one with a RAT-7, but couldn't find one.
Thanks for the link.

No Problem glee,in fact I'm waiting on the D2 Rat-7 to start shipping :D
DRE,I would check with the manufacturers before ordering any of the mentioned sheaths,in fact I wouldn't be suprised if it didn't fit a 1/4 inch blade, they might beable to hook you up with a larger insert.Take Care

My Blackhawk sheath came in. OK, I like it. I agree, that's a lot of velcro, but I like the versatility. I could do without the pouch though. I got it along with a drop leg extender.

DRE, I believe EKI sells nylon sheaths without the inserts and recommends contacting a Kydex molder to custom fit the insert.

Chris Reeve's sheaths have a wider insert for the blackhawks sheaths made especially for the Yarborough.
