Question about Boss Jack and Boss Street

I just recently received my Custom Shop Vex and Boss Jack from the BladeShowGanzaaaa 2015. The specs listed for the Vex is 3/16 thick, and it measures .185 inch. So you can't get much closer than that. But the Boss Jack specs list it as being .220 inch thick. My dial calipers measure it at .168 inch.

I'm definitely not complaining, as I have been looking for a thin Busse Infi. If I had known, I might have ordered two. And if the Boss Street is this thin, I would have ordered one of them also.

My question is, have Boss Jacks always been this thin? Were all the Boss Jacks from this ganzaaaa the same? And are the Boss Street knives from this ganzaaaa thin also?

That being said and out of the way, this Boss Jack just may be the knife I've been looking for. Thin in the blade, and thin in the hand also. It is even light enough that I wouldn't feel terrible about throwing it in a backpack. Although a thin Boss Street would fill that need even better. Not a chopper, but what I would call a multi purpose knife. Now I need to find a minimalist sheath to complete the package.

This knife is thin enough that it has got me thinking about an INFI fillet knife, ha, ha!

Can't help with your questions other than to say my Boss Jack is closer to the .22

Would like to see some pics of yours though.

It seems as though a couple of their measurements were a little off...
The aged bronze TTKZ I received is .248", but was listed at .270".
I wish I would have known because I would have bought more too;)

My cg BOSSJACK was fat at .22 thick. Looks like you got a gem there. Ever want to be rid of it I'm sure a few here would take it off your hands.

Man if there were .168 Boss Jacks in the ganza I'm gonna be super sad. Boss Jack is my favorite knife, I would've been all over that.
Can you post some pics? Maybe a spine pic next something else?

I just double checked and yea the only boss jacks i saw in the bladeshow ganza were listed at .22

The original thickness spec. for the BJ CG is .220" and .180" for the BJ LE.

Here is a pic of the two knives. Again, the Vex on the right is .185 and the Boss Jack is .168 inch. Sorry about the blurry pic, but it's the best I could do tonight, with my camera batteries going dead. But it gives you the idea of how thin it is. And if you have been drinking this Halloween, it might look clear to you.
The more I handle the Boss Jack, the more I like it. Need to get out and cut something now.

That's a pretty cool Boss Jack! I like the finish, thickness and small choil – wow, nice score!

Man, if 4.2mm is "thin" I can't imagine what thick looks like; I'm learning a lot with all of you guys posting these cool tools. The names are a trip too, what's a ganzaaa? Sorry I'm a true neophyte.

It's a Feeding Frenzy at the "Trough" for Hogs,Piglets,Rats, and Dogs.... They occur several times throughout the year usually after BLADE Show and Knob Creek..However When The Bossman's Liquor cabinet is running on empty he will Announce a GANZAAA For Valentines Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas...Whenever he feels he needs to feed the Trough.... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...zaaaa-2015-Pics-Specs-and-Ordering-Procedures

Awesome knife and congrats to you but :( thats a straight up top grail for me. Got a SFNO and an ASH from the ganza coming (don't even want the ASH) and I coulda had a thin BJ instead. Total bummer.

Ok, I got it. Thank you very much for answering my question, I appreciate it very much. They're awesome knives indeed. I have never been to a show, I broke my back a few years ago and it's hard , maybe one day.

Well, thin for a Busse anyway. It is the lightest feeling Busse blade that I have.

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of reading about Busse knives and there freeaking awesome. I'm very new to fixed blades and these are becoming my favorite very fast, got to do more research, I really appreciate all the guys here who have answered my questions, this is a very cool crowd. Oh , and I feel part of the family since I ordered a rodent 6 yesterday, which in my ignorance I called rat6 before;). Thank you guys

yea I just did some more snooping around, seems they were .17/18 and flat ground. WTF?!?!?! I'm really frustrated on this one.

I'm on the wait list for Boss sts from the ganza, are these the ones being mentioned here ? Wish I had gone for an ASH and FBM but who knew just couldn't swing it then :-( But I'm very thankful for what I did score :-) :-)

Did you find any mention of the thickness of the Boss Streets sold in the same ganzaaaa? I'm guessing that they are the same thickness. And I'll be keeping an eye out for a good deal on one.
