What knife? BTW you can't post links unless the site is a supporting member of the forums but you can post images with the standard img tags.

Based on what I see there it looks like a 500/Duke model not familiar with a version having a grizzly on the blade do you have pics including the handle and maybe of both sides?

Yes thanks , I posted some other pics . Sorry for the multiple posts

Those are from about 1985 if I remember right. Seems like someone in Tn. had them done, kind of the way copper an clad does now.

Looks like a Buck 500, from before Buck started using a date code, and before they moved to Idaho.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about that model.
Since it is pre-date code, my guess (and that is all it is - a guess) is the blade steel is 440C or possibly 425M.

Can't speak much to value but Buck knives are sometimes collectible and to ask further about value and such you are required to have a gold membership iirc might just need a paid membership of any level if not specifically gold.

That is a Buck Duke model 500 knife you are asking about. That one was made in 1985, the Grizzly Bear black etch (looks like a hedge hog to me) was done by a firm Called Taylor, there were 250 of them made. As stated you are not allowed to ask value unless you are a gold paying member or above. The one you are showing is used and in some what ruff shape for a collectable and the stag quality on that one is poor. If I were you I would not pay much for it, you can send it to buck and they can do what is called a SPA job to clean up most of the scratch's and polish it up some.

Didn't even notice that was stag myself until you mentioned it it. Is it possible to clean up the stag to return some of the contrast to it? Would be nice to see it restored a bit.

Wow thanks a lot for the info . I looked everywhere . I thought about putting it on eBay but I don’t want to get ripped off .
