Question about buying a membership for someone else

I have a friend that is going to re-up my membership, I don't have a credit card..How does he go about buying ME a membership? Is there a trick to it, I went to the "upgrade your..." and I couldn't see any place that he could enter my name or info??? any help would be a great help. Thanks, Gene

Go back to the "upgrade your..." page and this time click where it says

If you are a Non-US Customer or are trying to buy someone else a membership you will not be able to use this automated system. Please click here instead.

How come a gold membership is five dollars more expensive on the 1sks.com store than through the forums?

Why can't a Canadian use the automated system? What would happen if I tried?

There are a some discrepancies between the descriptions on BF and on the store on 1sks.com. Is that a matter of info not being updated or will I be entitled to less features (as a non-us customer) by purchasing an upgraded membership through the outside link?

Example:

BF - Platinum Membership = 5mb of attachment storage + storage of 200 private messages.

VS.

1sks.com - Platinum Membership = attach images to your posts (4 mb total), use private messaging (100 message storage capacity).

???

If you can use the automated system processing is cheaper and the savings are passed on to you.

The automated system uses address verification, which few credit cards outside the US support.

Your credit card would probably be rejected with an address error, but if you don't mind wasting some time you can try it.

Went ahead and tried the automated system and it worked like a charm. used Visa, so just a heads up to any Canadian users who wanna use the automated system.
