Question about buying CRK

Hello - This is my first post. I've managed to answer many of my questions by going through the various threads, but I have one that remains.

I would like to buy my first Chris Reeve knife. I plan to buy a Mnandi with box elder inlays and make it my EDC. Unfortunately, that item is back-ordered about 4-8 months at CRK (and i'm just too impatient!).

Through the various posts I've come across a number of distributors who happen to have this knife listed on their websites as being in-stock. Is there any benefit to buying it directly from CRK? Is there a benefit to buying it from a reseller, as they often provide pictures?

Thanks,
michael

The nice thing about buying it from a reseller is that you can choose the exact knife you want. I don't hesitate to use True North Knives or Plaza Cutlery when they have something in stock that I want. That way you get instant gratfication. They charge the same price. However it is cheaper for me to order straight from CRK because they only charge shipping and don't charge state tax of almost 8%.

You should know better than that.

What the heck did I do that was wrong?!?

Offering to sell in the CRK forum. That's what you did wrong. If you have something to sell do it in the appropriate forum.

I purchased my Mnandi from a dealer and had no problems whatsoever. After purchase any warranty issues go direct to CRK. I'll probably only purchase direct if I cannot find what I want at a dealer.

Thanks for all of the helpful replies.

Although it's not my place to say if rules were broken, bfluitt is telling the truth about selling. He did not offer to sell me a knife and was helpful in illustrating available legitimate methods for buying knives.

Let's all focus on the positive: my imminent purchase of my first Chris Reeve knife!

Thanks again.

Fair warning, Michael: you can never own just one.

I started out looking for a good outdoors/camping knife. Came to this site where I learned about Chris Reeve Knives. Bought a Mountaineer II.

Of course, in learning about Mountaineer IIs I discovered Sebenzas. Until then I'd always used cheap pocket knives.

Then, once I had a Sebenza, I found out I needed a Mnandi which is now on its way to my house via the US mail.

But I'm sure that'll do it. I'm SURE I won't ever need to buy another Chris Reeves knife ever again.

Right?

Run away, dude. Just run away. ;)
