Question about Case slimline trappers

Ive been thinking about picking up one of these with the yellow and cv, it looks like a great knife. But I noticed in a lot of the pictures online that it looks like the blade is canted forward a little bit in the open position. Is there a reason for this? Is that just the way they are made? I will still probably get one at any rate, just wondering if any of you had any insight into this.

Thanks
Zach

Both of mine are canted. I keep one in my hunting bag. Without fail my exspensive hunting knives get to make a few swipes and then get tossed aside for being too wide, and heavy and simply cumbersome. The nimbleness is what makes this pattern shine IMHO

I have a regular trapper that I had they Spey blade removed by Muskratman and it opens as a nice straight blade and I really like it.

Mine was canted
It bothers me

So I played and files down the tang to get it back some
It is better.

I recently got the same one you're looking at - yellow delrin/CV. I hadn't noticed until I read your post, but yes, there is a bit of a cant to the blade. It seems to work well in the hand that way, though. The blade leans into the work just a bit, in a good way, and my hand hold is very natural. When I visualize it perfectly straight I don't like it as much. So, in the hand, the cant works well for me, but if I just look at it open sitting on the table it does look a little funny. My advice is try it - I think you'll appreciate the cant in practice.
And it is so thin and light in the pocket. This is my second yellow/CV Case knife. I have fallen totally in love with my Peanut. I have four Peanuts, and the other three are "nicer", but as others on this forum have said, there is something about "yeller" handles and CV that is so "right".

Mine (also yellow cv) has a slight forward cant, but it's not really noticeable in use. It's a great knife though, and very easy to pocket for the amount of edge length it has.
