Question about Case warranty

My situation: I have case Russ Lock. I got it couple years ago before I discovered these forums, and learned all the stuff about lock & etc. The knife was never used, just sits in this tin in my drawer. The problem with this knife is the lock. From the construction I suppose it should lock in open position, but there are considerable amount of up & down blade play so I suppose lock isn’t working properly.

I tried to write case, indicating that knife was never used & etc, and got standard answer that warranty don’t cover abuse and misuse (I said in my e-mail that knife was never used). Plus they mentioning some charges that they charge you (up to 21$) if “necessary” without even asking you.

So, anyone have any experience with them? Do they really charge for warranty work ?

Not sure if this is correct number to call (I'm home without catalog) but I expect someone can help you...if you still get stonewalled give me a call at work Monday and I will get you better info on Case warranty...you should not have any problems.
