Hello everybody, I am new to this forum, its my second or third post. I purchased the green g10 cold steel ad15 . I liked it so much I ordered a 2nd one that I am waiting on. I have only had the knife for about a week and I am getting lock rock and side to side blade play. Also the lock pin on the yoke is walking out right to left.In addition to all that the tip bent ever so slightly just trying to cut a new slit in my packing tape when I lost the edge (I know not to pry or anything I baby this thing). Has anybody had similar experiences with the AD 15 ? Does the slight tip deformation mean its not really s35vn but a fake? Is it true that the black one is upgraded? This is my first cold steel so I do not know much about them. Trying to figure out if I should return it or not. Thanks for your help!

Absolutely, I am just trying to figure out how to get em on here. When I click on pictures it asks for a url.

The easiest way to do that is to use a picture hosting site

Would have to think it's fake. Can't imagine that many issues on a legit one. I believe the only known issue on some of the first ones was the blade notch that the lock pin falls into started to deform a bit after many openings. Can't remember the details...maybe the lock pin wasn't uniform diameter? Happened to WValtakis WValtakis and I think they took care of it, but that was pre-GSM.

I'm going to go with clone too. They were quick to clone these knives and said clones are widely available on certain Chinese and Russian sites, so caution (buying from a reputable dealer) is necessary.

Thanks for all of your input, I appreciate it. I thought i was safe if something was both shipped and sold by amazon. I'm returning it, hopefully the next one is legit (if it is legit I must have gotten a lemon). I am not familiar with picture hosting sites. I will have to do a little googling. I took pictures of the blade, logo, pin, and box before packing it back up. I bought the replacement sold and shipped by amazon as well fingers crossed the whole stock amazon has isnt from the same source.

It's also possible that it just needs some threadlocker, but I don't know how the tip would get deformed from careful use with that geometry, sounds bad friend

Thanks for all the responses! I just spoke with cold steel (gsm outdoors). I was told that the yoke locking pin is not walking out. Rather the knife is designed with a flush to slightly raised end on the "ad 15" side of the lockbar. The "cold steel" side of the pin is supposed to be slightly recessed and smaller in diameter at the end than the other side. I brought up the color of my yoke is closer to an olive green than a grey. Was told that is normal too. The tip deformation is ever so slight (I am ocd with expensive purchases) I am going to get rid of it on the sharpener. Its kind of like a burr. The number on the box is a dead number but I was told that could be old stock. Either way I was assured that the warranty would cover the knife even if it does turn out to be a clone since I purchased from amazon. I'd like to post pics, can anybody reccomend one of those sites I need to use in order to do that?

Good to know GSM shows some customer service. Try https://postlmg.cc/ it is so easy that even I could use it. Upload the picture and copy the hotlink for forums.
