Question about colored computer graphic

I'm considering the purchase of my first cgg Sebenza, Ole Glory, and wonder if the coloring from the flag will wear off the scale as the coloring does off the colored thumb studs. I'd appreciate any feedback you guys and gals can share.

For what it's worth I have been carrying a Large Sebenza 21 and a Small Sebenza 21, both with rather elaborate and detailed Unique Graphics, every single day for the past year. I do not try to baby these knives. First of all because I know I don't have to, and secondly because I too wanted to know just how the color would hold up to daily use. The thumb studs on both knives do show wear, probably because I waste a lot of time playing with opening and closing the knives, (as do most of the rest of us I would guess). The colors on the knives show absolutely no wear at all and they are just a bright and colorful as the day I got them. I would not hesitate to reccommend the CGG or the UG knives for edc carry as my personal experience has been that they hold up very well. I do however carry my Large Sebenza in a belt sheath and the Small Sebenza in its calfskin slip case, rather than in a pocket with keys, change, etc.

I hope all this helps. :)

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. While personally love the wear the sand blasted scales show with time, I'm not a big fan of the blue coming off the thumb studs and was hoping that it wouldn't be the same for the scales.

Thank you Desert Hermit.

The anodising is in the milled out areas so sees basically no traffic at all. The studs are a very high traffic area so obviously see much more wear. That is one reason I go for silver studs every time, I don't like the blue anyway.

Right you are Haze, (as usual). Silver thumb stud = no color wear. My personal experience as well. It's a good choice.

Mine as well. I sent an older one in this year and had a silver thumbstud installed.

OTOH you can start with a blue stud and later have the blue removed "by thumb"....
:)
I carry a small paw print for quite a while and the paw prints are still blue.

Thanks everyone!

I too prefer the silver thumb studs. I really think the blue looks good when its new, but not when it starts wearing away.

Yesterday, I ordered direct from CRK a small Ole Glory with silver hardware and double thumb studs. Thanks for the reassurance that the flag will continue to look good for years to come.
