Question about CS Trail Master

I've been thinking of picking up a Cold Steel SK-5 Trail Master (along with a few other knives when I get some extra cash next month) but most of the places that carry them for under $150 seem to be sold out. I can't even find one on Ebay for under that price. Are the SK-5 Trail Masters just super popular or is there a shortage or distribution problem or something? I used to see them all the time on ebay and around the net for $135 or less.
 
Trail Master is popular, and rightly so. But at the Cutlery Shoppe you can get them for $130 or so.
 
you can also check the exchange section of the forums,too. i got a carbon v trailmaster NIB for 125 shipped,less than the cost of an sk-5 version....

Cutlery shoppe has them in stock now. ;)
 
Seems like a lot of these SK-5 have a problem with the handgard that doesn't hold in place under moderate use.

Without this problem i would have one on order.:(

Yes, I've heard this too. CS QC messed up it seems. They WILL send you a new knife if you happen to buy a faulty one (chances are not that bad that you will). Either Ankerson or GrinderMcgee has this happen to him.

It happened to me, but it was a bad batch.

CS sent me a new knife and that one has been fine, no problems.
