Are the DC blades more prone to rust? I know the coated blades should be more tolerant, but how well does the DC hold up against rust?

Double cut INFI does very well, you should have no worries with minimal maintenance. Double Cut SR101 (Swamp Rat stuff) is another story...

agreed. i use my DC ASH SE quite a bit for yard work, often taking a few days to clean it, and haven't had any problems with rust. i've heard it's the most prone to rust out of all the finishes (except for the competition finish)

No problems so far with any of my double cut blades. I do tend to keep them clean. After I use one, I'll wash it with hot soapy water, dry it off, and then put on some Tuff-Glide or some CLP and let that soak in (into the bead blast) for a bit before I wipe it down and sheath it.

Folks often worry about the parkerized finish on some guns, the Remington 870 Express being an example. However, in my mind, those tiny little nooks and crannies in the metal actually hold onto CLP better than a blued gun/barrel. You just have to take the time to do some very basic maintenance before you put up the gun.

As others have said, it is more prone to rust than satin or coated....but not nearly as bad as the competition finish. That being said, I have had minimal rust problems with DC...just a little inside the talon hole on my user GW.
