I just recently saw the DPx folding knife with the bottle opener and glass break features. Does anyone else make a folder with a bottle opener built into the blade?
Thanks....

Can I ask why you think this is a good or necessary feature to have on a knife blade? Just curious.

Well, a fellow might be in the middle of a knife fight and want to pause to drink a coke out of the bottle :)

It's one of those things that you don't realize how much you need it until you need it.
Might just be me, I am easily amused and sometimes will give a non twist off top bottle to someone and tell them that it is a twist off top. :D

I just put the edge of my wedding ring under the top and pop it off. Drives the wife nuts, but it works in a pinch.

I use the Wave on my Spyderco Endura to open bottles all the time.

I do the key or lighter method if I don't have a caplifter handy.

Used to pop bottle tops on table edges & window sills, but the property owners explained that this was a social "no no"!

If it was a can opener.. it may be more useful.

I don't know of any other folders that actually claim the wave feature as a bottle opener.

However, the DPX H.E.S.T. is a great knife.

Michael Morris is a custom knife maker---several of his models feature a bottle opener that is machined into the tang.

Hi Steve - there are several traditional knives that have bottle openers, and JK Handmade Knives has a couple of designs for fixed blades with bottle opener features.

I know I have seen other "tactical" folders that have bottle openers - the little Becker BK11 has a bottle opener on the tang.

I tried the bottle opener on the HEST and it was more of a hassle than many other methods I know. Check this out:

I have the Hest your talking about. Great knife, but the bottle opener no so great I think. That was one of the cool features I liked about the knife. Takes me a couple tries usually to get the cap off. Now I have just learned to use the edge of the blade and pop it off. Makes a cool sound to (lol).
