Question about dsl gear :)

My friend wants to get dsl .. The thing is they want to connect two computers . One for them to get online and the other for the kids to get online on the other computer .. So my question is how would that work ?
Would they need two dsl modems from the provider or a router box thing ??

You need one DSL modem. For a wired connection, that connects to either a router or network hub. The computers hook into the network hub. Setup is very easy. This is faster and more secure.

For a wireless network, 1 DSL modem and each computer needs a wireless network card. This is slower and less secure. I wouldn't send my credit card or bank/paypal login data over a wireless connection.

Setup for either is easy.

I'm not an expert but it looks right. I've got a similar setup with a linksys wireless router. One thing to consider is, at greater cost, the wireless routers also have hard wired connections. Just in case he might buy a laptop in the future.
