Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and would appreciate some opinions/help! I recently bought a CRKT Folt's Minimalist Bowie, and think it is a great neck knife! However, it seems the factory grind is pretty uneven. I've attached a picture and would love your opinion on this part of CRKT's response:

"You would only need to mail the product back to us. However, I must note that the same minor imperfection will be prevalent on most, if not all, of the minimalist. The knives are sharpening by hand so the same pattern will show up again. I do apologize. Here is the link to our Warranty form:"

They were quick in their response, and offered to replace the knife for free (if I pay shipping). BUT, they specifically say that this issue is prevalent with this knife because they are hand sharpened??? I'd love your opinion on this... is it normal to get an uneven factory grind and I just haven't noticed before? Am I being too picky, and should I expect to re-profile new knives? (As far as correcting the issue myself, I'm working with a WorkSharp Field Sharpener).

For a 20 buck knife from CRKT? What you have is an acceptable level of quality control. You aint gonna get "great" fit and finish at that price.

Does it cut stuff?

Yeah they're hand sharpened $15-$20 knives. It's easily corrected with sharpening though; the metal is fairly soft.

Yeah, you might be being a little picky on this one. A lot of dudes around here have to re-profile their knives when they get them, and we're talking a lot more higher end stuff.

Ok, that makes sense. I appreciate the feedback and will just learn how to re-profile it. (I've never had this problem with any previous knives).
