Question about firesteels

Im looking to buy a firesteel. Question is, are the ones from knivesshipfree the same ones that goinggear has? Anyone ever used either of these before?

Are these good fire steels? Also you think the "Bobcat" one is large enough?

If it's Misch Metal then I guess they're the same. But I own some from going gear and they are wonderful. They'll start in a good fire in one to two strikes. Best firesteels I've ever owned. Good company too.

GoingGear is what I use. Several different sizes too. The Beaver 3" X 3/8" is a great size. It leaves room to add a handle and still have plenty for use. Its seems to be the standard size used with most fire steel loops on sheaths too.

The Ferret (3" X 3/16") is my other choice. I usually don't put handles on the thin ones. Just put them in bags, kits, cars, whatever.

Guy's over on BCUK have the Going Gear firesteels and they really rate 'em. Top service too.
