Question about GEC and others

Do all Great Eastern knives have half stops? I have the Pioneer (trapper) which does and should, but I haven't seen any of their other models in person. On some knives, like a stockman for instance, I prefer not to have them.

What about the other top notch production companies, like Canal Street or Schatt & Morgan?

I have a bug for a new slipjoint, now I just need to decide which one. I like the GEC Barlow with the Wharncliff blade, but I also like Canal Street's Cannitler.

Thanks for the info.

Only addressing GEC, not all have half stops. They have so many patterns I suggest checking with the seller before buying.

Not all of the GECs have half stops. The stockman, for example, doesn't have 'em. The #25 "barlows" do, however.

Thanks for the information guys. I think I may end up getting the GEC Sleeveboard. I like the idea of a smaller knife with a stout main blade. I'd prefer a wharncliff instead of the pen blade for the secondary though. I may regrind it if there is enough room around the nail nick. We'll see.

I've been EDC a canittler for a while now and find it's an excellent carry knife. Very pocket friendly with a nice chunky master blade. The D-2 holds an edge for an incredibly long time.

The GEC Sleeveboard is a lovely little pattern. I think you'll be happy with your choice. I handled several of them at Blade this year and was quite impressed. I can't recall if they have half stops, but I do remember the springs being a bit lighter than those on the #25 barlows- yet still snappy. I've been meaning to pick one of those up for a while, but haven't found the right one yet.
