Question about H1 knives

Alright, so I've been looking into getting a knife in H1 for some canoeing trips.

A) Why in the world don't the H1 folders use the updated FRN grip pattern of the Delica 4/Enudra 4? Instead they're stuck with the old dot-in-square kind of pattern.
B) Why wouldn't the Aqua Salt come with some with yellow grips as an option? Everything else in the Salt line comes in that high visibility yellow, yet the Aqua is stuck with one of the lowest visibility colors ever.... black.

Anyone know the answers? Are there answers?

Hi 19-3Ben,

A) The new handles for the Salts with bi-directional handles are being tooled now. They will have the same texture as the "4" models but with no liners.
B) That is being discussed now. We also have the new Fish-Hunter and Jumpmaster 2 to discuss.

What would you like to see?

Although I have no problems with the current FRN texture, it'll be great to see the Salts with the bi-directional handles of the delica/endura 4.

Hey Sal, the handles of the new salt folders will have the updated shapes of the 4 series or just the texture. I'm kind of fond of the shape of the Pacific Salt handle as is, but I'm fine either way. Just curious. Good news on the bi-directional texture!

Hi is is my favorite steel. I am glad that Spyderco (Sal) is working on something new.

H1 knives are often used for dirty works... bi directional texture (especially in yellow color) in my oppinion will be much more difficult to clean than the volcano grip pattern...

B) I have an old Rescue sprint run in white. It aged like ivory (sort of) with almost a light bone color. That would be a great color.

I'm not OP, but have a few "dream" H1 knives I'd like to see. The Ark with leaf or sheepsfoot blade, and/or (sprint run?) with orange handle. Would also like to see a Atlantic Salt and/or Saver Salt with plain blade (had one of the Atlantic Salts but was stolen) any handle color (maybe sprint with orange handle). Lastly, one I have seen mentioned before a plain edge Enuff sheepfoot salt. But will be more than happy with as many new H1 models you guys have coming:D.

Once again Sal, your commitment to figuring out what customers want and making it, is just mind blowing.

I'l address them in order.

A) That is awesome!!!! You're the man, and I can't wait to see how they turn out.
B) Glad it's being discussed. It just kinda makes sense to me, considering that pretty much everything else in that line is available with yellow, or orange for high visibility, I think it would be a logical next step in terms of product consistency, etc...

As for what I'd like... well, now you're going to open a can of worms!!! That's like asking a kid in Willy Wonka's factory to design an ideal line of candy bars for him!

My ideal would be kind of like a slightly stretched out Enuff Leaf. Same leaf shape, but around 3.5-3.75" in H1. Heck, I'd probably get one in black PE for EDC, and one in yellow SE for on the water.
An Aqua with bright yellow or orange handles.

And actually, you already make everything else I'd want in that line up. I just need to order some because I admit, I am jonesing hard!

Ditto

Dying for pics or diagrams, or just plain info/specs on the Fish Hunter. I think someone said it was a fixed blade, daggerish (false edged) blade?
Thanks

Anyone have pics of the Fish Hunter?:) fixed or folder?

Imagine a Aqua Salt with the spine reground to give it a semi-dagger shape. Serrated edge with unsharpened plain edge on top. This knife looks like it will retain all of the functionality of the Aqua Salt while giving the blade a much finer tip for puncturing. Also a bit lighter due to less steel. I like the design a lot!

The Pacific Salt and Endura 4 have treated me well. I didn't want to, but honestly I like them better than my Para2 and Millitary! I prefer the linerless aspect of the Pacific Salt, but like the bidirectional grip of the Endura 4 (Also I prefer the overall shape of the Endura 4). Just take my money, Sal.

You're welcome-
In case you want a backup, two Ladybugs in H1 have just be posted on the exchange!

Have a nice day!

Kinda like the one in the foreground?

(These handles are resin-impregnated 550 wraps, but Spyderco's still the only source for an H1 ARK. These were 440C, though I think AEB-L might be even better.)

Thanks, Sounds interesting. H1 blades seem to be getting more popular and in demand.
