Question About Hen and Rooster Knives Made Circa 1990s

I have been told that Hen and Rooster pocket knives were made by Boker during the 1990s. However, I have a Solingen-made 1994 H&R stag pocket knife and I believe that it was not made by Boker. The blades are thin and very shiny (the small blades are just like chrome) which is unlike Boker steel, and the stag looks different than what Boker used circa 1990s. It looks, to my eyes, closer to a Robert Klaas or a Carl Schlieper knife (the former apparently made H&R knives during the 1980s).

Here's my question: Who -- if anyone -- else made H&R pocket knives during the mid-1990s besides Boker? Maybe Klaas again? Carl Schlieper? Anton Wingen?

Thanks.

Can't help on the particulars, but. The Traditional sub might yield better feedback. AAPK is also a good source of info..

I think Jim Parker had control of the H&R name/rights at that time so it might have been Olbertz. Maybe A.G. Russell in 94 which could have also been Olbertz. --I think the chrome like finish you're referring to might be a crocus or black finish done on the older, nicer knives..--KV

I’m pretty sure that Robert Klaas made some of them during that time. I’ve had several of them, the quality was very similar to Klaas knives made then. Sorry that I can’t offer anything more specific than that.
