So I just purchased a New Sebenza 21 Carbon Fiber from a reputable dealer! I noticed the Idaho made stamp is barely visible only can see it holding at an angle my other Sebenza’s you can see it perfectly. Not a big deal just want to make sure it’s really legit maybe bypassed in production. thanks

1.Is it new from an authorized dealer. If so it should be good
2. look for date codes on the inside of slabs, near lanyard hole. I presume the CF side has them also, but certainly the ti side will if legit.

Over the years I’ve noticed that some appeared fainter than others. Both in images and physically. No idea if or why. Do you have a preference of whether it’s bold or faint?

Yes it is definitely new from the dealer it looks like the date code is C-19 and it did come with birth card and everything which said January 2020.

So many reasons from changing to new media, blasting multiple times to hide sharper tool marks, dulling tools on the CNC machine causing the need to not blast as much, trying to get into those small letters w/o blasting more everywhere else then trying to match it all. And then there is mixing all the above together.

No not really was just curious all the ones I have and ones I have had were not like that! That’s the only reason why I was asking.

I just checked two dozen large and small, left and right handed 21's, and all the letters look the same. Your letters, in my experience, are rather unique. That is something a call to the mother ship could likely address. Seems awfully noticeable to me. They could have possibly stopped it from leaving the factory like that, strange indeed. If user, then keep and use. If safe queen, I could not deal with the uniqueness. If you sell, people will bring that up.

Is that a large or a small?
-->The smalls have round outer edges of the washer in the lock side.
-->The larges have a gear like edge. However, it's not always visible. Sometimes I have to open and close a knife several times to rotate it. In the 15 larges I looked at, 10 had a "gear tooth" visible.

Just got a reply back from Alycia boy they respond quick! So guess puts my mind at ease hearing it from them!

Hi Kevin,

I hope all is well! If you purchased the knife with *****, it is guaranteed to be authentic. It is possible that the machining of the "Idaho Made" stamp is a bit more shallow. The tooling part of our machines wear, so they do have to be replaced from time to time so it is likely that this back handle was one of the last for a particular tool before it was replaced.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day!

Thank you,

Alycia

In my experience, anytime it’s lighter it means it’s been Spa’ed. Same as the Classic MM. Even thought it’s New, someone could have done a switch-r-roo with the dealer. This is why I am hesitant to spa u less I have too.
