I just bought a junk yard dog. Love the knife. I think it is an excellent value knife for the price that you pay. The only thing that I am not very fond of is the clip, so I am probably going to remove it. My only question is this. For those of you who remove the clip on this knife, do you put the screws that hold the clip back in. I would leave them out but got to thinking that it would allow more moisture into the handle and possibly causing corrosion inside the handle. Am I overthinking this or would it be safer to put the screws back in so moister cant get inside as much.

I love the clip :D, but yes, put the screws back in. If you dont it could let lint, water, crumbs etc in there.

If I remove a clip I always put the screws back in. It gives the knife a cleaner look in my opinion and it keeps me from losing them.

You could have a different clip made for it. STR here on BFC is well known for making excellent low riding pocket clips.

I’m not familiar with the JYD, but if you do put the screws back in make sure they don’t affect or outright stop the blade travel. Most of the Kershaws that I have with clips the holes are drilled through the liners and running them all the way in will stop the blade cold!

+1 keep that in mind when you start screwing them in

I have the CB version and I took the clip out, and put the screws right back in. They dont touch the blade and dont snag on anything. it fits right in my coin pocket and hasnt tipped out yet. Hope this helps.
