Question about Kershaw Trooper

I have a Kershaw Trooper in presentation case with a very low serial number made in Jan 80. Kershaw tells me they've made about 40,000 of them and they sell new for $299.00 as of this date. Anyone have any idea what one like this would sell for in never used condition?

ebay has sold them from $82.00 to $149.00 wih is about top price.
One of them was a mint 1979.
 
I appreciate the info. You'd think they'd get more expensive with age... I can't complain though, this one was given to me. Problem is, it's just too nice looking to cut anything with.
