Over that past 5 or six months i've been checkng out a number of knife manufacturers and of course I'm addicted to my SOG's but i can't help but wonder. It seems there is a certain style of knife right now that alot of large scale and custom knife manufacturers are making. The style is very close to the x42 with a single flat piece of steel and 2 pieces of some kind of handle mounted on it. Is this a knife trend, is it done for a reason...just curious.

Regards,

Guard...

Guardrail, I think it's not only a trend, but a very popular knife design/pattern that a lot of companies and makers may be falling back on for a dependable seller.

This is an amazingly competitive market area we are seeing these days, IMO.

Robbie Roberson ;)

Maybe its a question for SOG then, why would a popular style such as the X42 be discontinued then?
