Question about locking SAKs

Why is it that some of the locking SAKs have a locking bottle opener/screwdriver (for instance, the Centurion) but most do not (for instance, the Rucksack)?

A locking screwdriver is a great addition - seems like Victorinox would want to add this on all the locking models, eh?

I guess it's like the old almond joy commercials....sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. :) There has to be some LOGICAL reason for this but I can't think of an answer other than just just decided not to put it on some models.

111mm models with the sliding-button lock do not have the locking screwdriver. Those with the liner lock also have the locking screwdriver; the liner is split at both ends.

AFAIK, the liner lock models were designed to be a "Service Pocket Tool". Specialized professions, so to speak, needed sturdier tools hence the 2 locking implements. Note the model name designations- Centurion denotes a soldier, because the knife is issued to the Dutch Army. Fireman, speaks for itself. The Parachutist, the OH and non-OH Trekker, the Locksmith...and so on.

In line with your comment, my liner locks (OHT, Centurion, Locksmith) have what appear to be european military inventory numbers stamped on the tangs.

I have an OD Centurion with the same description as yours.
DE-GM-XXX-XXX, with X being a number. Can't quite recall the sequence.
