Question about making a sheath

Hi all, I just started reading+posting on this board a few days ago, so I'm fairly new here.

Anyway, I was wondering if there are any sites that go in detail about making a custom boot sheath or just a regular horizontal belt sheath for my Jaguar?

Also, I was wondering what materials I should use, and how I would go about making a sheath that fits inside my boot.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm..it really depends on what you want. Some materials lay flat enough so they don't get uncomfortable.Others like some leathers are molded, and get very uncomfortable when carried inside the boot.Any sheath worn inside the boot will rub.If carried on the outside of the boot, you'll want one that lays flat so that no one sees a big bulge in the pant leg.
All of my balisong sheaths are made of a woven nylon, and are about 19 years old and still going strong.I'm planning to make a few leather sheaths for special carry, since I dabble with leatherwork. But,I'm not going to mold them with a thick leather.I'll do the flatter style using an oil-tanned leather (I have some great looking burgandy leather).
So,it really all depends on comfort, look and lay.Leather will wear out after a bit, especially if it's rubbing against denim..while nylon won't.I don't know about some of the newer sheaths & materials, since I haven't needed to check them out.
