Question about membership type

I just read the sticky post where it says, "If you are offering your services as a sheathmaker you are required to upgrade your membership to Knifemaker/Craftsman/Service Provider. It's only fair since the knifemakers have been doing it for some time. This level of membership is the same price as Platinum. A Gold or Platinum membership no longer allows you to advertise yourself. "

My question is, do I need to upgrade my membership if I only sell sheaths that I make and then list?

I've been lurking on this great site for some time. I carve leather as a hobby. My plan is to make sheaths for the knife types that I own, sell them, and use the money to buy more knives to make more sheaths. I particularly like the part about "buy more knives", and my wife is buying this story for now!

If I begin to take orders or advertise, I will upgrade to Knifemaker/Craftsman/Service Provider.

Please let me know because I was going to post a few sheath that i finished yesterday.

Thanks,

John

If you personally make it then you need to have a knife makers membership. Also you can have whatever's left on your gold membership prorated onto your new membership so you're not losing anything.

Okay. I just paid for my God Membership a couple days ago. How do I upgrade and pay with the difference in the 2 memberships?

Thanks

Not a problem and thank you for supporting the site.

Welcome to the sheath crafters stable jaymack! I look forward to seeing what you do, carving leather is one of my passions. :)

Thank you for supporting BF, the money is well spent for the amazing coverage you get here, members in the thousands all over the world see your work.

Thank you rycen for fielding this for me, I was out of the shop all morning and just now making it back home. Long day already.

Thanks leatherman! I've seen a bunch of your sheaths as I've lurked through the forum. Nice clean work with beautiful inlays! I was going to post a couple sheath today, but held off due to the football game.
