Does canvas micarta shrink at all? I've heard some say it does a little over time but I've heard others say it doesn't.

I have several knives with canvas micarta handles. I have never noticed any shrinkage of the scales. And some of the knives are several years old. I have found it to be a tremendously durable and stable handle material which holds up very well under all conditions.

my grandfather has micarta from the 50s-60s-70s, and according to him it looks just like the day it was made, minus the dust, and their dimensions remain unchanged. i saw him just last week, and that's when we had this conversation. so thats what 60 years later and the micarta hasn't changed a bit.

I would have to say NO!!! I work in the turbine industry and we use it in the turbines all the time to include G-10 & G-11. So exposure to oils, solvents, thermal dynamics and NOPE can't say that I've ever seen shrinkage/deterioration...

I also have never experienced shrinkage, but my experience is not as great as some others in this thread.
