Question About Microtech Crosshair

Hello All,

Several months ago due to financial circumstances I had to sell my Microtech Crosshair. I finally was able to replace it in November and I have a question that's bothered me since I bought the original. Does anyone know what the purpose of the metal cap attached to the woven paracord on the end of the knife is? Is it supposed to be some form of fancy Portepee knot, a makeshift cosh, a balance? Any insight is much appreciated. BTW I love the design, fit and feel of the knife. Just curious about that detail.

probably just decoration to keep the paracord lanyard from unraveling. Instead of melting the ends and it looking "low quality" they added a fancy metal cap to keep the lanyard tight. Just my thoughts on it.
