I am looking for a monocular but I know nothing about them hopefully you guys can help. I would like it to be small easy to carry and reasonably prices I don't want to cry when I loose it.

Big 5 regularly sells very good ones for $9.00 or $12.00 dollars, I keep several and give them away as gifts. They are very good in the vehicle, for checking street signs at a distance etc.

The Zeiss MiniQuick Monocular, is supposed to be really good. But it is kind of price at around $120 from Cabela's.

there was a recent post about some ritz cameras clearancing the miniquick for $20sthing. worth a few phonecalls in your area to check.

I have a Vivitar monocular that's not too bad, and they don't cost a handfull of money to buy.

I have an Opticron WP 8x30 which I really like. It's waterproof, has above average optics, and is small enough that I keep it in a sunglass pouch on the shoulder strap of my back pack. I use it while mountain biking, hiking, snow shoeing, scrambling, and backpacking.

I ordered it from the UK, and this is the company I used...

Dealing with them was relatively quick (10 days to Alberta), and completely hassle free.

They have a large selection of monoculars, and I would assume that from these you'd find something you like.

I whole-hartedly reccomend the Opticron though.

No Ritz in the area, but we do have Wolff Camera, which was bought by Ritz. Wonder if they might have a similar clearance on the Zeiss MQ?

I checked at the Ritz north of the river here in Kansas City. Dude behind the counter said he'd never heard of 'em...
