Question about Mule handles and sheaths.

Does anyone ever glue the Halpern handles to a Mule? I realize this would make them hard or impossible to remove, but it would prevent moisture from getting under the scales.

Also, Spyderco is out of the Boltaron sheaths. Any idea of when they might have them again?

I only have a pair of Magnacut Mules with the Halpern micarta scales. I'm not worried about moisture getting under the scales due to it's corrosion resistance. That being said, if I was really worried about the steel under the handles, I would add a little silicone (plumbing) around the edge of the handles before installing them. Then I would put the scales on and wipe off any excess. Nothing permanent and easy to remove.

But unless the steel was prone to rusting easily, I wouldn't worry about it.
 
Absolutely zero concern about rust under the scales with magnacut (which is the only mule I have).

Heck...I have carbon steel knives that have pinned but not glued scales that are 100 years old or so.

Even with carbon steel on a mule, I'm not worried about gluing the scales on at all.
