Hey, I have a question for you guys about my large reg. Does CRK still offer spa treatment on these? When the day comes for a new blade will they be able to accommodate me by giving me one or allowing me to buy a new one? If not than does CRK really offer a "life time warranty" on their knives?.

I'd like to know myself. I'm scared to use my regulars in fear that I won't be able to get a replacement blade.

Yes. No. and Yes/No.

Don't quote me on this, but when I called CRK a few days about a similar thing, they told me that they will do a spa treatment's on the regular sebenzas (tune up, sharpen, bead blast, etc.) They will not give you or replace a regular blade because they don't make them any more. So be careful with your regular, especially the blade!

I would call or email them Monday morning to confirm your questions.

Use em.

I wondered the same thing as I carry and use the ones I own (fortunately one of them already has a back up blade) so I called CRK and asked about the warranty and blade replacement. I was told spa is good to go anytime and blade replacement would be available to those that needed it.

I don't plan on anything catastrophic happening to them as my uses are fairly mild, so as far as a full on knife replacement in the event your Regular is trashed I'm in the dark on that.

Anyway, they're great, they're smooth, they're cool as hell, so don't just leave em in a drawer untouched:thumbup:

Hmm...varying responses. Curious minds want to know...

I feel that if someone really needed a new reg. blade, they would help them out. But I think they tell peopele straight up no just so they dont get any ideas. Curious as wel...

I get the feeling they want to save what they have for actual blade replacement in case someone genuinely needs the blade replaced as opposed to just selling them for the sake of paranoia that something MIGHT happen to someones Regular blade.

How often does a Sebs blade need replaced anyway? (knock on wood, I don't wanna find out).

I was just curious. As I was using my reg today I realized that a knife blade is actually a consumable product and it won't be around for a life time. I love my regular and I am going to continue using it but I am going to be heart broken when the blade has worn down to the point where it is useless.

I'm calling Heather on Monday to see if there are a few more blades floating around the shop in limbo and if so I'm buying a few more.

Ken harbor & RiverRat84 have it right on, they are saving the Regular blades that they have for warranty replacement. They won't sell any replacement blades so that they can continue to honor their lifetime warranty down the road.

Now this is purely conjecture but: I'd bet that if they ever ran out of Reg blades they would grind more. It's probably something they would like to avoid though.

On a similar note, do they replace the blade after the lockup is too late? Mine appears really close to 100%, so I either need more metal on the blade or more metal on the lockbar.

I am a second owner of an Umfaan with BG-42. So long story short the previous owner sent it into CRK for SPA treatment less than one year ago and CRK noticed a crack in the blade. (Keep in mind the knife is 13 years old at this point.) CRK replaced the blade with another BG-42, it took a little longer than usual so it is assumed that they had to grind one out.

Thats awesome. So I may actually have this knife for a life time.
