Question about my new 111

Yesterday I received a model 111 I had been coveting for some time now. The seller said it had 440HC steel. I've grown familiar with a number of steels to date but this one is new to me. How well does it work compared to the standard 420HC?

Thanks,
Paul

Just to be sure, you do have the more recent 111 like this?

If so, the seller is mistaken, it's 420HC.

Yes - my knife is exactly like the one pictured - Idaho stamp. Well, I wondered if the 440 was an error but thought it could be a different steel for these 111's. I'm still happy with the purchase!

Thanks for the info guys!

I'm fighting the urge to get a second one to someday carry myself, I actually like the bolsters on these.

They add a little flair to the 110 frame!

I agree - I like the nickle plated over the brass with the a little more style to the shape. I've gotten the 111 pretty sharp with Arkansas stones but am about to get into stropping.

This 111 will be my primary carry when I'm not at work which is in an office. At work I like the Bucklite 422 due to the weight.
