Question about my new BK16

Ok so I decided to give the BK16 a second chance (first one felt like a let down) due my love of the design. My knife came today from Usamadeblade and upon receiving it I gave it a once over. One thing I noticed is on a small spot under the scale (around both sides of the screw closest to the back of the knife) that there is no coating, just wondering if this is normal on Beckers. One thing I will say is I hear a lot about these knives not coming really sharp but this one has a pretty good edge on it.

Well at least mine isn't the only one. It doesn't really bother me to much as I am planning on modding the heck out of this thing. The only downside is I had planned to leave the coating under the scales to help with rust.

Yeah my 16 had a small spot back there missing too; I assume that's how they hang it when they coat it?

Give it a shot of polyurethane under the handles and forget about rust.
