Question about my new Police for (CustSrv)

I have a new Police with the G10, full flat grind and when open the transition between the back of the handle and the beginning of the hump isn't flush. In other words, where the lock ends and the blade begins there is about a 1/8 inch or so drop before the blade hump goes back up. I question if this lock is reliable because I can push on the blade of the spine and feel the lock give a little.
Can I send this in for repair?
Thanks for your reply
Walter

My Police had the EXACT same problem.I sent it back.My Endura locked up tighter than the Police.A knife costing almost twice as much as the Endura should lock-up just as good IMO.

Wrkrafft - The "step" between the locking bar and the back of the spine is normal on models with "humps". Because of the "hump" there is really no way in production to avoid not having a perfect match so we adopted the step instead, Humpless models can be finished flush as an normal knife.

If pushing down on the spine produces play, this is not normal. Pushing the edge down hard might permit the blade to go up slightly, this would also be normal.

Sal,
Thanks for your response. After reading your post I've decided my Police is A-OK.

By the way, my wife is getting annoyed with your company because the list of future additions to my Spyderco collection is climbing: Spydewrench, Martial, Calypso Jr. lightweight, Tim Zowada, Small Military, Rolling Lock Military, and the list goes on.

As far as I'm concerned, AWESOME knives!!!
