I was lucky enough to recieve a talonite EDC from my mother for X-mas. It is a stunningly beautiful knife. I am always impressed with Darrel Ralph's designs being ultimately functional while being increadibly attractive.
My concern is that the knife has some verticle blade-play. When the knife is gripped firmly causing the lock to travel as far as it can on the tang, the play is eliminated. But if I hold the knife in a reverse grip or a pencil grip (which I do with small knives for precise cutting)the bladeplay is very apparent in cutting applications. Were it a lesser knife I would not raise an issue, but I absolutely love it and I want to cure it of any shortcomings if possible.
Would this fall under the limited warranty since it was like this out of the box? I have only had it for a short time and have barely used it and certainly not abused it in that time. I also have all the original packaging.
How long would it take to fix if I sent it in? (I have saddly been laid off from my job this new year and may be moving in the coming months)
All this aside,I must say I am deeply enchanted with both my Cammilus folding knives. They are excellent knives that have made an impression on me and all i have shown them to. During my visit this holiday to see my old highschool freinds I had one old buddy convinced that the talonite EDC was made of "Mithril" and forged by elves (hehe...nerd). I "waved" out my clip point Maxx at a party where a couple guys were flicking thier knives and I heard someone mutter "thats the coolest thing I have ever seen"....people dont get out much in the back-woods of Colorado.
