Question About My TGLB and Busse Logo

I just received my first Busse knife directly from Busse and it's a TGLB. I love the knife, but one minor concern I have about it is the BUSSE logo that's stamped on it. I have seen many photos of other people's TGLB's and I have never seen one with the issue mine has where the BUSSE logo falls partially within the fuller, rather than clearly under it. Please see the photos I took below. Does this cosmetic problem potentially harm the resale value of the blade if I ever decide to sell it? I probably won't, but just wondering. It's probably a silly question, and if it is, I'm sorry, but I'm a perfectionist and that's why I bought a BUSSE!

I wouldn't worry about it. The logos are lasered on and this one just went over the fuller slightly. If you're worried about resale, don't. It has a Busse logo on it :)

it's fake
send it to me for proper disposal

I'll second that!
Furthermore, I'd say it would be sacrilege to dispose of this monstrosity in the land of the real deal, so I'll offer my services (free of charge of course ;) ) to properly dispose of that thing... :D
PM me for address ;)

Efstratios, It does look like the laser fixture was off a little bit. If you are not happy with it, please send it back in. Or, just beat on it until the logo wears off. ;)

Its worth more like an error coin.

People pay more in coin world for errors:)

I kind of like it. Busse errors aren't common. I'm sure they would take care of you if you don't like it.

I would keep it..that makes it a bit of a rarity. But if your ocd is too much send it back in and they will surely fix the issue. Nice pick btw that's probably my next knife.

Well I'll be leaving for a vacation on Monday for a month with my girlfriend to Ocracoke, NC, so I don't think I have time to return it even if I wanted to. :p I wish the BUSSE name was put on there perfectly but I guess I'll keep it the way it is. I guess it's just an OCD thing lol. :(

Dump it in the post with a note and they'll take care of it while you're gone.
They may be able to delay return shipping as well if that's the issue.

I'd send it back--one QC lapse like that and the resulting photos, etc. do much more harm to the brand than the cost to Busse of replacing it, and Jerry knows that better than anyone. Why not wait 'til you get back from vacation and then contact the shop about swapping it out or letting them re-finish it for you? They'll make sure you're satisfied, and if you don't get it fixed you'll feel irritated about it for as long as you own the knife. Just sayin'...

Personally, I wouldn't worry about something that minor. Nor would I let it deter me from purchasing a knife logo'd like that on the exchange. Just my 2 cents.

I hope you have a nice vacation! If you would like to return the knife once you are home from vacation, we will fix it for you no problem.

Okay, thanks Pokey and thanks to everyone else for the advice. I'll think about it then, just don't have time to deal with it now, but I'm grateful for the option to return it for another. :)

On a side note, I just received a Spec-Ops Brand Combat Master sheath and I'm trying to put the blade inside it and it does not seem to fit the opening...lol. My luck! I don't want to force it through so it doesn't potentially scratch up the coating. Is this normal? Should I push it through? I heard about heating up the kydex insert but I'm not sure how to do that, the insert seems pretty secure inside the nylon housing. I have an ESEE 6 which is much thinner than the TGLB and it fit without an issue, I was just checking to see if the kydex was bent, and it isn't. Any advice?

Mine has the logo partially in the fuller as well. I figure between that and having competition finish, the resale value is better than normal.

too bad its not on the back side like Daryl's knife :)

The Combat Master has a screw at the bottom that holds the Kydex in. Remove the screw, the Kydex will slide out. You can use a heat gun or oven to soften the Kydex enough to reshape it. If using an oven, be careful not to overheat it. Heat it just enough to get it to soften. I think up to about +/- 300 degrees until it starts to soften is OK. I understand Kydex will melt or burn at around 400 degrees so be careful.

There are also sheath makers here who make custom Combat Master inserts specifically for the TGLB if you don't feel comfortable heating the Kydex yourself.

Good luck, Les.
