Looking for info on a fixed blade I found for sale locally.
At least 25 years old. Owner says made in Germany but there's no tang stamp. The only stamp says "Original Bowie Knife", a bit of hyperbole on the makers part no doubt.
Looks like a stage handle with red and black bolster at the ricasso.
Anyone ever heard of something like that.
I'll put up some photos once I figure out how. Thanks

Kind of generic......there were plenty of "Original Bowie Knife" knives imported from Solingen in the 1950 through the 1960s. Edge Brand for example produced one that had red and black spacers if thats what you are referring to.

A few better shots. Owner still not including the pommel. Maker looks like Haron/Baron Solingen Stainless Germany

Not really any better. Need more resolution, don't size them down so much.
I think the name is Baron though....
Yeah, that's the best the owner supplied me. I'm sure it's Baron.
Found this thread from a few years ago.
Hello all. New to this site and wanted to get more info on a bowie knife I had found.

The stamped markings are "Original Bowie Knife" one the flat side and "Baron Solingen Germany" by the brass guard. There is also a brass nut with a slot at the end which I presume screws onto the tang holding... https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/info-on-bowie-knife.1756763/
