Does anyone know if the regular Bucklite and Bucklite 3's(not the bucklite max's) have a lanyard hole?
Looking at them on the Buck website and they don't look like they do, but I thought it might just be the image since the knives shown are black. Thinking of picking one up, but I like the lanyard whole so I can add a pocketclip.
Thanks in advance.

Yes they do. I'm looking at both the 422 Bucklite and a 426 Bucklite III and both have lanyard holes. Here's a picture of the orange version, it shows the holes better than the black. Click the picture to enlarge it.

Where did you get those in orange?
I searched the buck website and only saw it listed in black.
I'm thinking I "might not" lose it if I had it in orange.

Thanks in advance

Buck ran the orangies on a web special thing a while back. Might check ebay.

How would you put a clip on it? How would the lanyard hole help with a clip?

Just curious.

I have a 1988 bucklite that I picked up at a flea market that I like pretty well, but the blade looks to have been broken at some point and reprofiled and it's been sharpened down quite a bit. I had an old frost knife at the house and the hole on the Frost pocket clip is the exact size as the lanyard hole on the bucklite. I experimented with a stainless steel screw that was a little smaller than the lanyard hole ( and taped the threads so it wouldn't damage the scales on the bucklite in any way) and it's worked perfectly and clips solidly to my pockets. I don't think it should void any warranty since I haven't drilled anything into the knife. Now that I know it works, I'm going to try to find something that looks better than the stainless steel screw, like a matching rivet that matches the others in the knife.
I was going to send this one in for a reblade, but by the time I send it in and pay the postage, I could about just get a new one since I have a 25% discount card from buck.

Good info.

For what you can get them for on the web specials, why worry about the warranty..

If you order three ($54) they ship free, and you probably won't ever wear one out.

Now off to digging out those Frosts I bought one time out of curiosity, to look for clips

I bought two of each size on the web specials page in July and August of last year. Both sizes were the same price, $18 each. They aren't buildouts and I went back as far as 2000 and can't even find that model in the catalogs.
