Question about numbered Manix

My wife bought me a Manix for Christmas. It is #010. My question is should I feel bad using such a low serial number for work? I'm a lineman for Verizon and my knives see hard use everyday. So should my trusty Endura and Native stay in my pocket and the Manix at home. Or just go with, it is a knife and meant to be used?

IMO, either buy another for use or trade for one plus cash. OTOH go ahead and use it, it will make my #041 more valuable. :D

Numbered Spyders are always rare, and the Manix seems to become a winner for Spyderco, so if u plan on collecting Spyderco's i would keep it as a collerctors item. If not u have a great knife on u, one of my favorites, until now (and i have a few). I have some Spyderco's i will never sell or trade, and the Manix is one of them.

Mine is not numbered, wanna swap? ;)

i think that spyderco #'s first 200 or 500 or it varies w.knife itself..but either way, me personally i wouldn't use that for everday use..for the hard work us the others that you have..i have #108 of the full size dyad and i hardly carry it w.me

Unless you are a collector I say use it. It would be a shame to have it sit and collect dust. Besides, everyday it will be a nice reminder of what a great wife you have.

I agree with donovan. Unless you are a hardcore collector of Spyderco's, or you collect knives with the intent of selling them later for a profit ( not too many succeed in this btw), then use it. Right on about reminding you how great a wife you have!! :D
