I have a Inverted 'Buck u.s.a' with 2 small brass Inlay rivets and a headed brass Rocker rivet. It also has the cast 2 piece integrated rear bolster. The question is that when I measure the thickness of the rear bolster, it is thicker than the Version 3s that I have. The other thing is it has 2 rivets on the left side of the rear bolster and none on the right side, so it can't be a Version 4, but if not, what is it? It is almost 1/16th inch thicker than Version 3. Your great help will be appreciated.

I picked this out of another forum.
I have a Buck 110 folding hunter I received as a gift from my brother. I looked it up in Levine's 4th edition and found it to be a model made between 1968 and 1970. It is a second version of the original 110 design with an intergral brass bolster and liner and the spacer on the rear bolster is also integrated. It has one pin in the handle which goes all the way through the backspring. The tang is marked upside down "Buck USA". Can anyone give me an estimated collector value for this knife? It's in very nice condition. It was used when I received it and has been sharpened. I had it professionally cleaned and sharpened so it's in as nice of condition as I can get it. It's really nice overall. No pits in the handle bolsters anywhere I can see

"From what I could see in the picture, you have a nice knife. I only know of one variation without inlay rivets so hopefully your knife falls into that category. I would say it is a category III, version 2. This knife has no inlay rivets, the butt rivets and spring holder, are integral to one side. This means you should be able to see two butt rivets on one side of the knife but not the other. You should be able to see the blade rivet on both sides of the knife. Often times, the rivets are extremely difficult to see, but they are there.
This knife would have been made between 1967 and 1970. The information in Levines was put together by the Buck Collectors club founder, Vern Taylor. Since then I did extensive research at Buck, and completely revised the data bank on the 110.
Does your knife have the box, sheath, and or paperwork?
Take care,
