I have no clue what the value is on different 710's and don't know much about them. I just know they had a aluminum version handle like the 940 at one time. I was wondering if the older aluminim vrsion handle 710 with 154cm steel is hard to find these days? If so what is the value of one NIB ?

The 710's been around since the early days and was the first to sport the Axis lock. Only a limited number (yes they're VERY hard to find) were made in aluminum, and If kept NIB are worth whatever the market will bear. I wouldn't be surprised at $300 on up prices for these.

The original and protoypes had aluminum sales. Several years later, a distributor (Moteng?) also offered a version with aluminum scales.

I think there were slight variations between the two, but forget what the difference was.

As the others said, as far as production knives go, only the very, very early 710s had aluminum scales it those would NOT have had a 154CM blade, it would have been ATS-34. However, it's possible that there were limited edition runs with aluminum scales later that came from the factory with 154CM blades. More research or more forum feedback is probably a good idea.

I ave an Al. handled 154CM. I think it was a distributor special.
