I've been thinking about making a knife/tool sharpening jig for a while now, and I have all plans for it stuck in my mind. I intend to make a guide on making the jig too. But when I went to the local hardware store this morning, I had no idea what a particular joint was called haha.
I ended up coming back empty handed
anyway, the joint I want to know the name of is something like the one used in this jig.
That joint at the top, centre'ish. The one that holds the two metal rods together, but allows the sharpening rod to pivot up/down and left/right etc. Its also used in this youtube vid, if you want to see it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB0pNsI1mZY&feature=player_embedded
a variation of the joint is also used in the edge pro apex.
haha, i just don't know what its called :X any help would be much appreciated.
