Question about Queen #64 Canoe

After my foray into getting a GEC I've now been sucked back into the darkside (;)), looking at all kinds of patterns.

I really like the Queen #64 canoe and from searching through the archives it seems quite well regarded by folks here. My question is about the spring strength. I know piece to piece can vary from a given manufacturer, but how are the springs on the canoe generally?

Thanks.

It depends...

I have two Queens.
The Maple has quite a strong snap to it on both blades.
The Amber is much softer, but not weak.
I prefer soft.

I also have a Boker Canoe, and all the Bokers slippies I have are soft.

Depending on which supplier you are buying from, you can ask for them to test the knife they are sending to be a strong or softer spring.
This is no guarentee though that you will get what you asked...

The bottom line:
I do not rely on the springs of a knife for the knife not to close, I rely on how I use the knife.

I agree completely. Just wanted to see if this pattern had an overall reputation one way or another on the springs.

My experience with Queens is they can be all over the place. I've had them soft to nail breakers and everything in between. The only Queen canoe I had was right in the middle.
