Question about removing Kizer thumbstuds...

Dunno if I have the right subforum for this question. But I recently acquired a secondhand Kizer flip-folder. It's a decent knife for the money. But I want to remove the dual thumbstuds on it. They just get in the way of pocket carry and are not needed with the solid flipper action on this knife. Does anyone know how the thumbstuds are attached and the best way to remove them? It's like this:

I don't have that particular model, but I did replace the thumb studs on my River Cat. I'm not positive if they're attached the same way, but I would assume they are. They are threaded into each other, so I just used 2 pairs of pliers with double sided tape on the pliers jaws. If you're not worried about marking them up, the pliers with out the tape should work. The only other thing they could be would be press fit. Again, you would use pliers to pull them apart.

Thanks JJ85. I'm hoping they're screwed on. Guess I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Just to follow up: They were indeed screwed on. Came off easily with a couple of Vice Grips.
